Basics

— I am not affiliated with Tolkien’s Legendarium; this is only my interpretation of Elladan Peredhel from Tolkien’s works. Since much of his personality and past are left up for interpretation, I will add personal headcanons to thicken his background somewhat –– which is all the intellectual property I claim as my own.
— I furthermore claim ownership of tweaked coding and my graphics/icons, however, so please don’t take anything off my page ( especially without asking ).
— IC = / = OOC. I am not Elladan I write, and I do not share ( many of his ) opinions.
— This account is mutuals only and queue-based, and I will only sporadically check in on the dash.
— I work full-time and have other hobbies, so I occasionally hoard replies and post them gradually over time.

Elladan and his twin brother Elrohir were the children of Celebrían and Elrond. Dark-haired and grey-eyed, only those that knew them well could tell them apart. The first of the twins was named Elladan, (‘Elf-Man’) as a token of his ancestry; he was descended not only from the royal houses of the Noldor, the Vanyar and the Sindar, but also from the Houses of Hador, Haleth and Bëor of the Edain ( and even from the Maia Melian ).

Notes about my portrayal

  • Elladan was born first out of the two ( but I'm flexible in terms of this, as this seems to be a popular hc for both Elladan and Elrohir rpers ).

  • The twins were not present at the Council of Elrond.

  • Through heritage, Elladan was born with some sense of foresight. Whilst he cannot tell the future or look into a distant past he was not around to see, he can, under duress, see events that have just transpired, are currently transpiring or are about to.

  • The twins rule Rivendell in equal capacity after their father has sailed.

  • Elladan takes a particular interest in healing and smithing.

  • Elladan favours the glaive and bow and arrow.

  • Though the differences between the twins are negligible in terms of practical capabilities, over time, Elladan developes an inclination towards scholarly interests, whereas Elrohir favours practicing combat ( I leave this open in part to Elrohir RPers as well, however ). I have based this upon the fact that the name ‘Elrohir’ can be translated to Elf-knight. This is not to say that the Elladan is a bad warrior or that Elrohir is any less of an academic whatsoever; it is simply a small distinction I like to bear in mind.

  • The twins are grouped neither with Men nor Elves in the books. E.g., Legolas is described as the only one whose heart did not quail as they traversed the paths of the dead; they miss the Nazgûl flying overhead that Legolas spotted with ease. Their lineage as such hints at repercussions beyond those related to the choice between immortality and the gift of Men. It places them a notch above Men in terms of innate affinity with a great many things, yet below those of fully Edhil/Eldar descent.

  • The twins are rarely seen apart from one another until the Fourth Age. With there being no war ( or preparations having to be made ) and new responsibilities bestowed upon them as the Lords of Imladris, they more often tend to matters independently.

  • Glorfindel, Erestor and Elrond played near enough an equal part in training and tutoring the twins in their youth.

  • After the War of Angmar, which the twins both participated in, Elladan and Elrohir played a pivotal role in helping the remaining Dúnedain adjust to their new lifestyle as nomadic Rangers of the North. Ever since, the twins have taken it upon themselves to document the bloodlines’ progression through the centuries.

  • Regarding the two figures seen in The Return Of The King, reforging Narsil into Andúril: out of wholly self-indulgent reasons, I believe those were Elladan and Elrohir.

  • ( My interpretation of ) Elladan sails to the Undying Lands around the year 140 of the Fourth Age. He does so with his wife, Vezely, and their son, Elrandir. This is by no means documented in canon resources, but it’s how I’ll write his later Fourth Age-based interactions.

MODERN

Tsai Zhidan was born alongside his twin, Luō wén, to Lěi and Diane. Lěi left Taipei to carry out his diplomatic duties in Europe well before the twins' birth. After a time, he settled in Switzerland and invested in an estate in Lauterbrunnen. Not long after, he met Diane, who was visiting from the U.K.. The two married and joined their efforts to preserve and modernise the estate they would henceforth share.Over time, Lěi’s ( well off ) brother, Lan, in turn chose to invest in this estate, which then enabled the establishment of an opulent hostel. The place would at times be run by Diane alone, seeing as Lěi often had to travel for work. During their first years spent in the Alps, they were gifted their twin sons, Zhidan ( Dan ) and Luō Wén ( Rowan ), and two years later a daughter named Azura.Dan and Rowan have since inherited this successful project from their parents’, though both lead separate lives alongside their younger sister as well. Dan has largely followed his father’s footsteps in choice of profession, which eventually led him to the Foreign & Commonwealth Organisation in Great Britain. There, as assistant legal adviser, he maintains close ties with the SIS ( more commonly known as the MI6 ).In cooperation with the latter, he was sent on an assignment involving crime triads in Hong Kong. After the daughter of a prominent figure in this web of organisations, Vezely Landry, was taken into custody at Heathrow airport, Dan was called in for further support. She was to serve her years in prison according to the law, but the MI6 brokered a tailor-made deal in which she was to aid them in dismantling sections of the underworld crime in Hong Kong in return for possible freedom. The terms eventually established that Dan was to accompany her as her handler and assist wherever needed —— but over time, he gets much more than he signed up for.

cyberpunk 2077

Zhidan ( Dan ) and his brother Luō Wén ( Rowan ) were born to Lěi, a former diplomat-turned-chief knowledge officer ( CKO ) of MetaCorp, and his wife, Diane, chief risk officer ( CRO ). With both parents serving prominent roles in the corp, Dan enjoyed the opportunity for wealth, travel and extensive education because of this, followed by a warm welcome into MetaCorp itself once he reached the appropriate age and level of expertise.Whilst he initially entertained the idea of pursuing a career in engineering, the intrigue of politics eventually drew him into attaining a Bachelor of Arts degree ( Government ) at the remnants of Harvard, followed by a joint degree in law and business. After spending some years working on research, advising various organisations opposing Rosalind Myers’ presidency – most prominently the allied Free States during the Unification War – and drafting proposals to overturn the latter, he decided he’d had enough of politics. Change was rare and progress scarce; he wanted to push for more tangible results elsewhere.In 2070, after the war, Dan was welcomed into the fold by MetaCorp, where he wound up in the business development branch. About 4 years of working ungodly hours later, he attained the position of junior director of corporate strategy. Here he stayed until early 2076, after which the board of directors recruited him and Rowan into two rather different positions – namely that of corporate spies.In truth, Dan had occasionally sent back reports to MetaCorp about noteworthy activity, even when he’d worked on campaigns and policies in the more political sphere. His perceptiveness has as such become one of his keenest weapons over the years, and his ability to obscure communications equally so. One will be hard-pressed to find much of a questionable trace left behind by him.MetaCorp conjured up a fictional background to smooth Dan’s entry into Arasaka. Here, his superiors and colleagues know him as Lin Jīngtiān, with the paperwork to back it up. On paper, ‘Lin’ was the junior director of operations in the same branch he actually spent the last 6 years in. MetaCorp has given Dan approval to ‘leak’ snippets – both fictional and real – of data from the company’s procedures to Arasaka to gain his superiors’ trust and work his way up the hierarchical ladder if possible, and improve his cover’s credibility.Now, as a relatively new addition to Arasaka’s research and development department, it’s up to him to figure out how best to make use of his position for MetaCorp’s benefit — before things go awry.
